Lake County Indians Association

CONSTITUTION

Article I: Name

The name of the organization shall be Lake County Indians Association (LCIA), hereinafter referred to as the "Organization."

 

Article II: Mission

The mission of the Organization is to embrace and preserve the Indian culture of the rapidly growing population of Indian Americans in Lake County, and contribute towards the growth and diversity of the Lake County community.

 

Article III: Location

The principal office of the Organization shall be located at 1075 Shambliss Ln, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089, or at such other place as the Board of Directors may determine.

 

Article IV: Membership

Section 1: Eligibility

There is no membership in the organization.

Section 2: Rights and Privileges

Since there is no membership in the organization, this section is not applicable.

Section 3: Termination

Since there is no membership in the organization, this section is not applicable.

 

Article V: Board of Directors

Section 1: Composition

The Board of Directors shall consist of 3 members.

Section 2: Duties

The Board of Directors shall work together to:

  1. Ideate, plan and execute the events and programs to be conducted by the organization
  2. Assess, evaluate the organizations that are in need of funds to for LCIA to consider a contribution to help
  3. Work with a volunteer team to plan events Section 3: Terms

There are no term limits for the directors at this point of time.

 

Article VI: Officers

Section 1: Titles

The officers of the Organization shall include a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Currently, there are no officers for Secretary and Treasurer.

Section 2: Duties

Officers’ duties are similar to Board of Directors duties. See section Article V, Section 2.

 

Article VII: Meetings

Section 1: Regular Meetings

Regular meetings of the Organization shall be held at least once in a month at a time and place determined by the Board of Directors.

Section 2: Special Meetings

Special meetings may be called by President, Vice President for any urgent matters.

 

Article VIII: Amendments

This constitution may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the members present at any regular or special meeting, provided that notice of the proposed amendment shall have been given.

 

Article IX: Dissolution

Upon the dissolution of the Organization, assets shall be distributed for non-profit organization activities focused on assimilating Indian Americans into the local communities, promote the Indian heritage and culture in the Lake County and United States in accordance with applicable laws.

This constitution was adopted on 1/1/2022 by the board of directors of LCIA.
