About Us

Welcome to the Lake County Indians Association (LCIA)!

The Lake County Indians Association (LCIA) was founded in 2021 by a group of dedicated individuals from the Indian community in Lake County, Illinois. The association was born out of a desire to create a platform that would not only foster a sense of community among Indian-Americans but also promote cultural exchange and integration with the broader society.
In its early years, LCIA focused on organizing cultural events and festivals that celebrated Indian traditions and heritage. These events provided a space for the community to come together, share their customs, and celebrate significant Indian festivals such as Diwali, Holi, and Navratri. Over time, LCIA's activities expanded to include educational programs, health and wellness initiatives, and services for seniors.
A key milestone in LCIA's history was the establishment of its annual flagship events, which have grown to attract thousands of participants each year. These events, including India Independence Day celebrations, Garba Night, Women's Day Celebrations, and the 5K Run/Walk, have become central to the association's mission of promoting Indian culture and community engagement.
LCIA has always placed a strong emphasis on youth development and education. The association has partnered with local schools and industry professionals to provide workshops and camps focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education, business innovation, and career preparedness. These programs aim to equip the younger generation with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their future careers.
In recent years, LCIA has also initiated several health and wellness programs, including community health check-up camps and wellness activities specifically designed for seniors. These initiatives reflect LCIA's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all members of the community.
LCIA's growth and success can be attributed to the unwavering support of its members, volunteers, and sponsors. The association's efforts to promote cultural integration, provide educational opportunities, and support community well-being have made it a cornerstone of the Indian community in Lake County.
As LCIA looks to the future, it remains dedicated to its mission of fostering community spirit, promoting cultural heritage, and enhancing the lives of its members through a wide range of programs and services.
